The next morning Bob had to go to work. He left us in the care of his lovely wife and daughter. This is Bonnie. Hi Bonnie!
Rachel, Todd and Bonnie. Thanks for giving up your bed, Rachel!
This is where Chad hung out during the 2000 Election.
We crossed Florida on Alligator Alley. It's the northern part of the Everglades and the Big Cypress swamp. This straightaway lasted for miles.
Watch out for alligators!
Thankfully, we're also on an evacuation route. Just in case.
A Silver Alert is like an Amber Alert but for Seniors.
More swamp
We made a new friend!
Swamp
Man down!
Decapitated palm trees. Like "Momma had a baby and her head popped off" but for giants.
Todd was enthralled by this.
ALLIGATOR!
Yes
Lots of power in these parts!
Dude
We had an enormous feast in Fort Lauderdale!
Our friends Tony and Annette did too! They look a bit overwhelmed by it all.
This is the view from their apartment at night.
We went out and played! We went to a Dive Bar. Like diving. In the ocean.
Then we went across the street to an open mic night and saw these guys. This is what they look like while playing "Jenny, 867-5309."
Then came Black Diamond. Stephanie thought they were going to be a Kiss cover band and was thrilled they were not. And they were GREAT!!! They did an amazing version of "Word Up" by Cameo.
Lead singer and Stephanie
We went back to the Dive Bar and met Ben. Hi Ben! He has shiny pants that help bike riders stay visible. You can visit him at http://pikeybags.com/
