July 10, 2010 - Tampa Bay, FL

10am, Saturday morning. The Gulf Coast Yankees played the Gulf Coast Blue Jays. Did we mention that the game started at 10am??? The Gulf Coast League is the Rookie level.

The facilities were, um, sparse. Thankfully admission was free.

We had to bring our own shade. It was already in the upper 80's. At 10am.

Players ran the video/photo apparati.

The restrooms we waaaaay off in the distance, in the parking lot of Raymond James Stadium.

The stands and the fans. We counted total attendance of 23.

Paparazzo? Team photographer? Stalker?

There we are!

Todd has his own shade, but it didn't help his knees.

The Blue Jays celebrated their win right behind us. And yes, we're wearing the same clothes as yesterday. Because the game was at 10am!

The Blue Jays beat the Yankees 4-1.

It was a whole Yankee complex. "Show-offs" -Stephanie. "Jealous" -Todd.

"Mom" fed us well after the game.

After a serious nap and a change of clothes, we were back for a 7pm game at the Tampa Yankees. They honor their Yankees parents with their own version of Monument Park.

And they honor NYC.

It was a special dog night at the Tampa Yankees.

Welcome to Yankees Universe.

It was still hot. This dog melted.

Maybe it was just a power nap prepping for the show.

Plenty of water was laid out for the dogs, and pooper scoopers abounded.

CUTE PUPPY!

Chicken Chuck! (Note: no real chickens were harmed in this exercise)

Out back, there was nature!

I hope none of the dogs is a hunter.

A bird's nest!

Another Melky

Oh.My.God. This is a Palmetto Bug. This is Stephanie's shoe. And we thought Water Bugs were big!

The Brevard County Manatees (A-Advanced for the Brewers) beat the Tampa Yankees in the 11th inning at George M. Steinbrenner Field. This was 3 days before we learned of his passing.

This dog was sad.
